HyperDrive USB-C hub conveniently charges Qi-enabled mobile devices

- Mar 29, 2018

With new requirements come new problems. Back when computers have been beginning to switch over to USB-C (which include Apple going all in with the MacBook pro update in 2016), tons of businesses attempted to discern out the quality option to bring back old ports with hubs and dongles. Now, with Qi finally succeeding as the winner of the wireless charging general wars, we’re seeing the same rush to find the pleasant answer for wireless chargers.

The fairly descriptive, but rather inelegantly named HyperDrive USB-C Hub + 7.5W Qi wired-free Charger iPhone Stand from Hyper might be the answer to both of these problems, combining a wired-free charger and a USB-C hub in one device.

HyperDrive USB-C Hub Design

That is a properly-designed, multipurpose USB-C docking station that 5.1 x 3.7 x 1 inches and weighs 7.2 ounces. As we are able to see from the images, the USB-C dock shows off a swish and minimal style that allows it to match nicely together with your MacBook pro and other USB-C ready laptops. Meanwhile, the narrow and compact shape thing helps you to take it with your other cellular devices with no trouble.

HyperDrive USB-C Hub Features

The USB-C hub comes equipped with 3 USB 3.1 ports, one USB-C port, an HDMI port, Gigabit Ethernet port and a memory card reader supporting microSD and SD memory cards. The USB-C port supports power delivery pass through charging, so you can use it to charge your 15″ MacBook Pro when it connects with various external devices.

More importantly, the USB-C hub features a 7.5W wireless charging pad that delivers an efficient way to wirelessly charge iPhone X, iPhone 8/8 Plus and other Qi-enabled smartphones. Using power efficient components, the wireless charger is always a low temperature device in order to safely charge your device, and its fixed frequency doesn’t interfere with Touch and Face ID. In addition, using high-quality hinges, the integrated iPhone stand features unlimited adjustable viewing angles.

HyperDrive USB-C Hub Price

The team behind the product has raised enough fund via Kickstarter, but we can still pledge $99 to preorder the USB-C hub with 7.5W Qi wireless charging pad. It will be shipped in May 2018.
