Apple Updated Its Video Editing Software Final Cut Pro X With New Feature

Apple announced an update to its video editing app – Final Cut Pro X. It now gets latest features for the Magnetic Timeline, and Touch Bar integration on the new MacBook Pro and redesigned interface. The Touch Bar replaces keyboard’s traditional function row along with a Retina-quality Multi-Touch display, which adapts to Final Cut Pro X. Besides, Apple has also announced an updates to Motion and Compressor.

Final Cut Pro X Features:

Final Cut Pro X 10.3 features a new Magnetic Timeline that enables users to understand their film at a glance. It presents a customizable arrangement and color coding of the audio clips based on type, including music, dialogue, and effects. The software will let users simply drag to the instantly rearrange the vertical layout of their timeline or even highlight particular audio roles when editing.


Final Cut Pro X

The Touch Bar allows new MacBook Pro users in Final Cut Pro X to create, assign roles and give each one a unique color. Editors can also drag their finger to instantly rearrange the vertical layout of their timeline and highlight specific audio roles while editing.

The interface has been redesigned with a darker, flat look to put the focus on content, and there are customisable workspaces to adjust window arrangements for the different tasks. There’s also full support for wide colour workflows to let users import, edit and also deliver video in standard Rec. 709 and Rec. 601 colour spaces, or in wide gamut Rec. 2020 colour space, Apple writes in the press note.

Motion 5.3 and Compressor 5.3 have also been updated with the Touch Bar support and a new darker look to match the Final Cut Pro X update. Motion 5.3 includes support for the wide color workflows and 3D text enhancements, it also offers a new Align behavior for quickly connecting separate objects. Compressor 4.3 features a wide color support and updates and improvements that make it quicker to deliver packages to the iTunes Store.


Final Cut Pro 10.3 is available as a free update for existing users, and at $300 for new users on the Mac App Store. Motion 5.3 and Compressor 4.3 also available as a free update for existing users and for $50 each for new users on the Mac App Store.
