ADATA has just released its flagship Ultimate SU900 SSD that is based on a standard 2.5-inch form-factor and it’s powered by an SMI 2258 controller with 3D MLC NAND flash, offering ‘superior stability, power efficiency, and durability’ to both desktops and laptops.
The SU900 comes in capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB reinforced by performance-boosting SLC cache buffer. The ADATA SU900 SSD boasts blazing speeds of 560 Mb/s read and 525 Mb/s write and includes a 3.5-inch bracket and 2.5-inch spacer. ADATA also gives the SU900 SSD a 5-year warranty thus ensuring quality and longevity.
According to ADATA, the Ultimate SU900 comes with 800TB TBW (total bytes written) endurance rating and 2,000,000 hours MTBF. It also comes out with RAID Engine, Software and Hardware write protection, Data Shaping, Early weak block retirement and global wear leveling, that should all help will the reliability of the drive.
The Ultimate SU900 SSDs will be ADATA’s most advanced SATA 6 Gbps SSDs to date and because their performance is higher compared to that offered by ADATA’s Premier Pro SP920, manufacturer will likely position them accordingly. Moreover, the inclusion of a 2TB model into the product line emphasizes that the drives are aimed at both general consumers and users that need a lot of flash storage space.
